After you’ve developed an app yourself or commissioned the development of an ios app, the time comes to publish it. The App Store has strict requirements that must be met when publishing an app. It is important not only to comply with all the design guidelines, but also to ensure the user’s privacy, the stability of the app while it is running, and most importantly, its usefulness.

One of the reasons for refusal to publish can be that the reviewer finds the application useless, or not useful enough compared to many similar applications in the App Store. In this case, the functionality of the application should be reviewed to include elements relating to new developments in the operating system. Such applications are willingly let into the store, encouraging developers to continue to support the latest features of the operating system.

It is worth noting and a number of formal points that are very important to consider when creating a mobile application for iOS:

  • To put any product on the App Store, you need to register as a developer, pay the $99 annual fee, and fill out all of your information correctly. If you plan to release a product as a legal entity, the registration procedure will be longer, and you should budget from a week to a month for this process. That is why it is advisable to create a developer account as soon as you start development – this will help you to have it in the store by the time the application is ready to be launched, without unnecessary delays.
  • You need to prepare materials for the application page: screenshots of a strictly specified format and size (even 1 extra pixel plays a role and pictures won’t be accepted), advertising and general description of the application, keywords, privacy policy (write and place the file so that it is accessible via link). And you also need to provide an easy entrance to the application for the verifiers, because if you need to register with a phone number with sms-confirmation to get in and check the application, they will not be able to and will reject it immediately. Usually we generate a given phone number and a code to sign in to the app, bypassing the receipt of the sms.
  • The app itself can be checked from one day to one week. In exceptional cases it may be longer, but as a rule the app is tested within a few days. This should also be taken into account when planning a marketing campaign – it is worth leaving a margin of at least a few days between the day of sending for verification and the start of advertising.

Apple’s requirements are not limited to a hundred, for example, placing the “Download on the App Store” button on your webpage is also governed by rules, so you can’t paint it in product colors.

Although there are a lot of rules and conditions for placement, you should just follow a solid plan and recommendations, and then the risk of problems is reduced to a minimum.
